Wrestling permits boys and girls of any size and weight to compete for personal pride and glory  –  where success is not necessarily determined by one’s athletic ability, but by the size of one’s heart and commitment to work hard. Wrestling teaches the values of discipline, dedication, and perseverance; qualities that will serve them well in life.

Wrestling enhances endurance, strength, flexibility, agility, and confidence under pressure; significantly improving an athletes ability and performance in any sport.

Wrestling is considered an individual sport, but includes many of the benefits of team sports. It differs from most team sports in that during competition, athletes must rely entirely on their own individual abilities for success. Those that dedicate the time and effort will eventually achieve at a level directly proportionate to the investment they have made, even if their teammates prepare and perform at a different level.

The Elmhurst Wrestling Club has been serving the Elmhurst and surrounding Chicago suburbs for kids K-8 since 1980. Our mission is to inspire the passion for the sport of wrestling, and prepare our athletes to be successful on the mat and in life.
